Meet the Pastor
Dan and Karen Nilsen
Meet Dan Nilsen, Pastor of Newark Assembly of God. Having been forever changed by a revival at his home church in 1980, Dan felt a call to ministry at 16 years old. He pursued that calling, enrolling in Valley Forge University. Since graduating in 1988, Dan has been in ministry in the Assemblies of God ever since.
Dan has served as senior pastor at Newark AG since 2023. Working together with his wife, Karen, Dan has served as an elementary school teacher in several Christian schools, Worship Leader, Associate Pastor, and Lead Pastor in New Hampshire and throughout New York. Arriving in Western NY in 1996, his heart continues to be burdened for the lost in the region. Dan has a specific calling to see men overcome the many difficulties they face, and rise up to be leaders within the church.
Dan and Karen are blessed to have three daughters, and eight grandchildren.
